Product Spotlight : ORIBE Soft Dry Conditioner

Oribe Dry Conditioner Dry Shampoo? Been there, need that. But Dry Conditioner? That was new news to me!

Allow me to introduce you to my new BFF, Oribe Dry Conditioner. At first thought, it's gimmicky and overpriced, but spray this velvet onto your locks and you'll begin buying this in bulk. This is my hands down favorite product for my dry blonde ends, and a great alternative to greasy Moroccan Oil, (which I'm SO over).

This ultrafine mist applied from midshaft to ends of hair, will leave you smelling delicious and feeling insanely soft. I've been walking around creepily petting my own hair.

Treat yourself! Or gift a gal pal a bottle for Christmas! (Available at Thomas West Salon, and HERE.)

Try Me

photo 7 "Wedding planning" is a pretty way of saying making a ton of tough decisions. I know this, I appreciate it. That's why when my brides choose to hire ME as their hairdresser for the most important day of their life, I don't take it for granted. That decision to choose me... it makes me so excited!

Hair trials are SO important. I do have brides that decide not to do trials, and they've never been less than obsessed with their hair on the day of, but a trial helps me to understand your vision, and gives you the opportunity to see it come to life. Sometimes seeing a photo of Jessica Alba rock glamour waves is all you think about, but when you see that same hair on your head, maybe you realize you kinda want it up! Scheduling a trial not only solidifies that you love the look, but alleviates day-of stress. On your wedding day you should sip your mimosa, hang with your besties and know exactly what I'm doing behind the chair. No guessing or hoping that you'll love it.

TIP: I recommend scheduling a hair trial for two months before your wedding!

There’s something about the word change that ignites me all over. The way it begins and ends with this strength against your tongue as you say it. Cchhaannggee.

Change is a neat thing, because we all have our own relationship with it. Some people love change- encourage it! Others fear change- get nervous about it.

Personally, I think change is healthy and empowering. (So much that I have it tattooed on my body.) For me it brings newness, which I associate with feeling fresh and rebooted!

This time of year everyone feels a little blah. The holidays are long gone, but Spring is nowhere to be found, in the midwest our skin+hair=DRY. We’re searching all depths for some sort of pick-me-up.

Maybe that’s why all my clients are eager to chop their locks. Whatever the reason, for the first time in my 7 years doing this, it seems like EVERYONE is looking to go short. Typically, I’m ultra conservative with length, and ask a zillion questions before proceeding… “How long have you been thinking about this?” “Did you guys just break up?” etc… but lately, everyone who wants this refreshment has brought in a printed photo or pulled up their Pinterest, eager to invite the newness. In that case, say no more… lets do it!

If you’re looking for a fresh start, I say go for it! What’s really stopping you? Just let go, it’s liberating!
