Obsession Confession

revlon I've never been a big drugstore beauty girl, but Revlon has undoubtably won me over. I'll be a consumer for life.

For about two years now, I've been using Revlon lip color over all my previous favorites. I once loved the shades that MAC offers, but they make my lips dry, which makes the color look less smooth by the end of the day. I love the NARS and Tarte lip crayons, but they don't allow enough control during application for me. Most lip gloss colors I've ever swooned over, are sticky and goopy.

Revlon lip butter "lipstick" is smooooooth and feels luxurious. The lip glosses feel even better. The liners last and glide.

My absolute favorite gloss, that I wear nonstop, is Revlon Colorburst, "Crystal Lilac". It looks amazing on all skin tones, and is just a touch pinkier than your favorite nude.

Girl Time

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to collaborate with two of my favorites to play hair and makeup! Shannon perfected the makeup, and Emilia made these everyday girls look and feel like professional models!

Thank you to my dear friends for spending a few hours out of your comfort zone for us, you're all stunning!

XO AJ P.S. More of these shoots to come! If you're interested in being a model and letting us play dress up with you, please use the contact page to leave me a note!

Never underestimate the power of a hot pink lip!

Today is an extra long Tuesday! I have a full day at the salon, a mid-day meeting about a cool new beauty product, more clients, a coffee break with a bride-to-be, and then a graduation party for my no-longer assistant as she’s now promoted and has her OWN chair. THAT’s a day. Couldn’t have done it without my lip color.

No, really. After a few hours of running around, my makeup looks average, far from it did when I left the house. A lip color with BAM really keeps me looking fresh, polished and awake through midnight.

Try Candy Yum Yum! I can’t imagine it looking less than glam on anyone!

Your Stylist AJ is featured on MAKEUP.COM today! You might remember the above photo from THIS TUTORIAL. When I created this tutorial, it was a last minute, “shoot I need to post a hair tutorial… what have I done lately” situation, and it has somehow BLOWN UP on Pinterest with 892 pins! (what!)

When MAKEUP.COM contacted me about the feature I was smitten. Thank you!

Makeup Makeover

I love a good crush!

Just getting home from work, I’ve been stuck between going for a run, or running to Molly’s Cupcakes. I settled on blogging and today want to talk about finding a solution for my most frustrating moment… broken makeup.

We’ve all been there, whether you pull your makeup bag out of a suitcase after two flights and a cab, or you drop your compact in the sink, or magically it’s now a loose dusty mess imbedded in your bathroom rug.

Tossing our shattered $30 hues is extremely frustrating, so instead I’ve started collecting them all in a jar. Everytime one breaks, I crush it into a fine dust, and add it to the jar. If they don’t all match, it’s totally okay, think of it as creating your own custom blend!
